The oldest AC fleet in the valley lives here

Salt Lake City air conditioners skew old. The suburbs got their systems with their houses; the city added cooling piecemeal over decades — R-22-era condensers behind Sugar House bungalows, window units bridging the gap in the Avenues, swamp coolers still working the west side. Repair calls here need a technician fluent in every generation of equipment, and ours are: we service all makes and models, carry the common failure parts for the old stuff, and give you a straight verdict when a unit has crossed from "fixable" to "spending good money on borrowed time."

Diagnosed with instruments, priced before work

Every repair visit runs the same way regardless of ZIP code: we test — capacitors, pressures, amp draws, temperature splits — and show you the readings before naming the fix. The diagnostic fee isposted flat and waived when we do the repair, so finding the problem never costs you twice. City quirks get factored in too: older electrical that undersizes a circuit, condensers crammed into pre-war side yards, and the occasional unit whose real problem is a duct system from another era — in which case we say so instead of selling refrigerant. If replacement genuinely wins the math, thereplacement conversation starts with a free estimate, not a scare.

AC Repair questions we hear in Salt Lake City

My AC is an older R-22 unit. Is it even worth repairing?

Sometimes — and we'll tell you which time this is. Salt Lake City runs the valley's oldest AC fleet, and plenty of R-22-era units are one capacitor or fan motor away from another good summer. But when the failure is a refrigerant leak or a compressor, repair money starts fighting physics: R-22 is expensive and scarce. You get the reading, both paths priced, and no pressure either way.

You're actually based in Salt Lake City, right?

Right — our shop is at 840 W 1700 S, inside the city. That matters for AC repair specifically: when your system quits during a heat wave, proximity is response time. Avenues, Sugar House, Rose Park, Glendale, downtown — none of it is more than about 15 minutes from our door.

Can you service a swamp cooler, or only refrigerated air?

Both. A lot of Salt Lake City still cools evaporatively, and we service what you own without turning every visit into a conversion pitch. When a swamp cooler's pads, pump, or bearings are the problem, we fix them. When you're ready to ask what replacing it with central air involves, we'll answer that honestly too — it's a bigger conversation, and it can wait until you start it.
