Financing questions
Straight answers
Will checking my options hurt my credit?
No. Optimus and Enhancify start with a soft credit pull, which doesn't affect your score, and Snap doesn't run a traditional credit check at all. A hard inquiry only happens if you accept a lender's offer and open an account, and the lender tells you before that point.
Is this a loan or a lease?
It depends on the path. GreenSky and FTL (reached through Optimus) and Enhancify's lenders make loans. Microf (through Optimus) and Snap Finance are lease-to-own payment plans, not loans. We'll always tell you which one is on the table before you sign anything.
Do the no-interest offers really have no interest?
Yes, if you meet the terms. Most promotional offers are deferred interest: pay the balance in full inside the promotional period and you pay zero interest. Carry a balance past that date and the lender may charge interest under its terms. We'll put the payoff date on paper for you.
What if my credit isn't great?
You still have paths. Optimus routes applications by credit tier and includes options for lower scores, and Snap Finance is built for situations banks decline. Every option is subject to credit approval by the lender, but a rough score doesn't end the conversation.
I don't have a Social Security number. Can I still finance?
Snap Finance has options for customers without an SSN. The requirements come from Snap and can change, so call us at (801) 678-5748 and we'll walk you through what Snap currently needs. Hablamos español.
Who offers financing for HVAC installation in Utah?
Most established HVAC companies do, through one or more outside lenders; the differences are in the lenders behind the button and in who explains the terms. At Lucas Heating and Air the stack is Optimus (a soft-pull marketplace that routes to GreenSky, FTL, or Microf by credit tier), Enhancify (soft pull, no dealer fees), and Snap Finance (a lease-to-own payment plan with an ITIN path). Any Utah installer can only offer what its lenders approve, so the real question to ask a company is which lenders it uses and whether the pre-check is a soft pull. Our blog post on how to finance heating and air conditioning in Utah walks through the questions to ask any installer, including us.
How do I start?
Get your free estimate first, so you're financing a real number instead of a guess. Then check your options online with Optimus or Enhancify, or ask us to help with the application at your kitchen table.
