Why do my filters look gray after a windy week?

Our Main Street-era house has been added onto three times. Can you make it comfortable?
Usually, yes — once we map what each remodel did to the airflow. Magna's older homes have carried a century of additions, and every one borrowed heat from the rooms before it. The fix might be duct corrections, a return where one never existed, or a ductless head for the room the ducts can't reach. We quote the cheapest fix that actually works.
We just bought in one of the new west-side developments. What should we watch?
Two things: whether the builder's subcontractor registered your equipment warranty (often nobody did — we'll check), and how fast construction dust ages filters while the surrounding phases keep building. New-home HVAC isn't maintenance-free; it's equipment that deserves a tune-up rhythm from year one, especially here.
Is a swamp cooler still a fair choice in Magna?
