Why does our split-level never heat evenly, and will a new furnace fix it?
A split-level is three or four short stacks of rooms sharing one thermostat, so the level with the thermostat is comfortable and the others drift. A new furnace alone doesn't change that; a new furnace installed with the right blower staging, a return-air fix on the starved level, and honest balancing does. Replacement is the cheapest moment to do that work because the system is already open. We quote the plain swap and the level-by-level version side by side.
Do the Wattsmart rebates apply in Bountiful?
Not for electric-side equipment. Bountiful runs its own municipal power, so Rocky Mountain Power's Wattsmart rebates don't apply here. The gas side is different: Enbridge Gas's ThermWise rebates on qualifying high-efficiency furnaces do apply, and we handle the paperwork.
